Returns

Whether this business takes returns

A window is the number of days after delivery in which a customer may ask. No window means this business does not offer returns — not "unlimited", not "zero" — and nothing on the tracking page offers one. A merchant can be given their own window that overrides this.

Somebody rang in

A customer who telephones rather than using the link. Same rules — the parcel must have been delivered and still be inside the window.

Waiting for a decision

Approving sends a rider to the door it was delivered to and fixes the fee and who pays at that moment. Refusing is told to the customer, so say why in words they can read.

Collect elsewhere sends the rider somewhere other than that door — an office, a shop counter, a relative's house. It is the ordinary case rather than an unusual one: somebody who ordered to their home is at work between nine and five, which is exactly when a rider can come. The parcel's own door stays on the record either way.

Settled

Collected returns hand over to Picking: goods that came back off a customer account are decided there — restock, repick or hold.
